Holy crap, painting colours is hard! I feel like I’m learning (if you can call it that?) how to draw all over again every time I attempt it. Even my girl is pouting! Hmph.

Painted in Photoshop - 4 hours, (crap, really?) February 9th, 2013

You know it’s time to step away from the Photoshop when…

I’ve been trying to get back into digital lately which also means getting back into editing which may lead to me losing my mind. But other than that it’s been kind of a refreshing change! Here are some Lucy-in-motions from our group shoot.

Canon Rebel XSi + Adobe Photoshop CS3. July 13, 2012.

(In other news, back to Montreal tomorrow! San Francisco pictures SOON.)

We shot in a magical place yesterday.

Bea, from our shoot on Saturday.

Taken on the iPhone & edited up in Photoshop.

Flare for days!

Photoshop sketch + printed and inked version (as posted on instagram) of a drawing based on this Lou O’Bedlam shot. Drawn last October. For whatever reason I had never posted this before.

Anyway, I should really draw more often.

I also went through a phase last year where I printed out Photoshop drawings and touched them up with ink. Makes no sense, right? Yeah, I’m just super logical like that. Original drawing done in February and touch-ups in, September? Probably? Maybe one day I’ll even get around to colouring it.

Posted earlier - and the reference of course is by the great Lou O’Bedlam.

Incidentally, it was that exact photo that Michelle and I ogled and declared we would one day take pictures of that level of awesome right before we went out and took this picture. True story.

So, at the repeated behest (actually weeks of nagging) of my hetero life partner, I made her a logo for her website. I used the pen tool for the first time in god knows how long aand did a terrifically half-assed job of it too, if I do say so myself. Then I spent all the time I should have spent on better linework messing around and nitpicking insignificant details. If I was as meticulous as I ought to have been for this kind of work, I’d probably have a breakdown. Some graphic designer I’d be.

But anyway, you should all go check out Michelle’s website now with her ~new logo~ and loads of pictures of me, because you really don’t get enough of that here, do you?

Hey look I drew a thing.

Attempting to colour but apparently colours are haard sigh.
