Amamak on parade!
Michelle and I’s Christmas ‘card’ with our family of cameras.
This is a totally normal thing to do, right?

Don’t you just love it when you’re at a friend’s house (let’s call her “Friend1”) and another friend (“Friend2”) sends her an IM saying that your name is very compatible, which makes sense five minutes later when Friend1 opens Friend2’s tumblr and you find this?
What, that doesn’t happen to you?
Sat in on Michelle’s sociology class yesterday before we hung out. Because, hell, I’ve got nothing better to do so WHY NOT go to school… Even though I’m not in school and when I was it wasn’t hers?
Hurray for sketchbooks. And well, the amusing Asians of Michelle’s program.
GPOYW; Lost gremlin-face Aviva with beautiful light edition.
Went for late breaky with Mihal at Casse-Croute today. The fact that it happens to be right next to Dawson means I’ve basically been there more times this week than all of last semester, taking advantage of all the printing credit left on my student ID. During which time I discovered, among others, this picture. Which Michelle and I both agreed is kind of great.
And now I’ve conned my parents into watching The Swan Princess with me, whilst eating beef and broccoli from soba. Good times.
Ohohoho, how the tables have turned. Look who’s taking pictures of who NOW, eh!
Just a little preview of some of the fun had today with my lovely woman. Polaroid-back Kiev pictures, behind-the-scenes and (gasp) maybe even a video to come. Exciting stuff!
Wednesday narcissism time! That’s right, Gpoyw; didn’t have any fun photoshoots this week so I’m settling for this AWESOME shot by, of course, the lovely Mihal, from my country house last week, which shows off how much crazy hair I have (edition).
Had myself a whole lot of not fun today, working at my daddy’s office for the day, getting so bored out of my mind I wanted to die. And I have another five days of this (I’m guessing, at least) to look forward to. Joy.
And now for some geek time; Watching BSG (for the first time) with Tom and then the new season of Chuck premieres on Space at ten! Yay!
Also, ten minutes into the first episode and three sex scenes later;
Me:What’s with this show?
Tom:This is half the show.
It’s Christmas time! What does that mean? TIME FOR NEIL GAIMAN!
While acquainting myself with here ye tumblr, I came across this blatant reminder that I missed out on what could have been an epic event in my life. Two out of three of my friends were gifted with his presence when he came to Montreal for World Con this past year.
I have worshipped at the altar of Neil Gaiman ever since I read Neverwhere at the ripe age of twelve. Neil and I, we were joined by fate. I had just finished reading the Foundation trilogy and my mind was shot, my small brain simply could not contain the epicness of Asimov’s work (and that was before I even fully understood the basic plotline). Anyways, I was tucked away in a corner of a used book store that now no longer exists, when someone asked me to move so he could get to a book. Lo and behold, he pulls out Neverwhere (why anyone would give away such a thing is beyond me) and proceeds to leave it on top of a stack of books right under my nose. Needless to say, I had read everything Gaiman ever produced a month later.
It really is a sad sad world.
“Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and adventures are the shadow truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes and forgotten.” - Gaiman
This post now officially includes exactly three quarters of my group of friends. We just gotta get Jo on here (HAH) and our whole group will be on tumblr. Anyways. You should follow Sarah. She`s full of more angst than half of tumblr could ever muster, and apparently she uses the word epic a lot. And you see all those references she made? To all those BOOKS? Yeah, she reads real books. Crazy stuff.
Just for the record, Neil Gaiman is really cool. From the whole two minutes that Michelle and I met him, and spoke in disgustingly high pitched voices asking if we could take his picture, he was very nice. And british! We even got this shot right before the Hugo Awards started, and then right afterwards we went back to get it signed and take another picture (polaroid, to be precise) of the two of us, Neil Gaiman, and his Hugo award. That`s right. His whole entourage even made sure that we got a picture, and he made us hold up the Hugo award. Good times.
PS Sarah, you`re the 100th person I`m following on Tumblr. Oh, and I fixed your spelling mistakes. =)
Okay, I’m below 100 tabs. This is good. To celebrate, here’s a preview of yesterday’s shoot, where you can actually kind of see all that crazy blue makeup I was wearing. Note the too-small backdrop we borrowed from my dad. Michelle and I decided that I should actually become a Make-up Artist, because unlike models and artists, those are kinda tough to come by and thus in demand. Alright. Plus, it would give me a chance to hang around photographers and I do so love them. I wonder, would anyone actually pay me to do their makeup?
Gpoyw. Half-developped polaroid of me FREEZING MY ASS OFF in the snow with crazy ice queen makeup edition. With bonus polaroid of SUPER HOTNESS AKA JOHANNA.
My women and I packed up our shit and had ourselves a fieldtrip/excursion/photoshoot at my country house today. Good times indeed.
Photo credit, of course, goes to the lovely Mihal.
