2//52.
(I started this last night so it counts as being drawn during the second week of 2012 shh shhhh it’s all good.)
Mila! Because I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of drawing pretty faces, and she clearly qualifies.
Okay, so I seem to have some sort of aversion to the concept of ‘easing’ back into drawing. My drawing modes are ‘ten minute scribble then I cry because it’s horrible and I assume I can’t draw anymore’, or ‘six hours of neurotic perfectionist attention to detail’ (even when I intended this to only be a rough sketch??). I guess it could be worse?
On an artisty note, while this isn’t quite fully realistically coloured, I consider it a huge personal improvement that I painted it this way in Photoshop and not in grayscale and I didn’t have to edit the fuck out of my original colours to get it like this or anything. I just had a decent palette from the start which is rare for me. Yay!
Re-worked version of this old Yvonne sketch.
Printed out, inked in purple, black, grey and white pen, scanned + velvia sky photograph (thankyou Michelle) superimposed in Photoshop.
Ain’t technology grand?
You know, I think it might be time for me to start making some new art again.
& I’ll start by posting some old, updated art for a little bit.
Also, it’s 11-11-11 folks! AWESOME, right?
I tried drawing something in Photoshop for the first time in, let’s say… three weeks?
I worked on this for about three hours and then went “Hey, you know what would be fun? Not doing this anymore.”
STILL, I CONSIDER THIS PROGRESS. It’s better than a ten minute post-it drawing! (I hope.)
I think I might make a series of these drawings. They’re really quite fun and relaxing to do.
So I wouldn’t exactly say that I like this one, but it’s giving me less omg what am I doing I can’t draw at all vibes than the past few drawings have… so that’s progress, I suppose.
So I’m trying to do the whole Audrey Kawasaki painting on wood sort of thing. Except that I don’t do paint. And apparently don’t own paint anymore aside from watercolour and shitty plasticky paint I got for painting Disney princess busts.
So, um… watercolours, paints, marker, sharpies, ballpoint pen, colour + watercolour pencil. Wip.
Since I’ve been feeling like I cannot draw anything remotely good lately, here’s some unfinished (but still clearly a lot more complete than recent work) BSG fanart, which I might, actually who am I kidding, I will never finish this up. But yeah, you know, Six = drool-worthy.
